Several critically injured in Air Compressor Blast in Indore Hospital

More than 10 people were critically injured when an air compressor exploded at the private Curewell Hospital in Indore which took place on 5th September 2016.

The glass panes of 18 windows were broken in the impact of the explosion and pieces of glass fell on attendants and patients. Instead of helping the patients, the hospital employees fled from the scene.


The hospital's manager said that the air compressor was fixed in the wall along with other cylinders in the general ward of the 4-floored hospital. There were more than 30 patients and hospital staff members present during the incident.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer sent a 3 member team comprising Dr. Malviya, Dr. Sodhi and Dr. Jinwal to check the issues that led to the happening.
